Louisa Campbell

Louisa Campbell’s poetry draws on her experiences as both mental health nurse and patient, and grapples with themes of spirituality and connectedness. Her poems have won and been placed innumerous competitions, as well as published in a variety of literary magazines including Acumen, The North, Under the Radar, and Stand. She has two published pamphlets: The Happy Bus (Picaroon Poetry, 2017), and The Ward (Paper Swans Press, 2018).Selected for the Poetry Book Society Summer Bulletin reviews, her first full collection, Beautiful Nowhere (2021, Boatwhistle Books), is a memoir bringing to life experiences of childhood trauma, life as a mental health nurse, descent into depression and psychosis, and recovery. She lives in Kent, England, with her husband, teenager and rescued Romanian street dog.
