Kaveh Akbar

Kaveh Akbar is the author of Pilgrim Bell and Calling a Wolf a Wolf, and the editor of a new anthology published by Penguin Classics: The Penguin Book of Spiritual Verse: 100 Poets on the Divine. He has received honours such as the Levis Reading Prize and multiple Pushcart Prizes.

His poems have appeared in the New Yorker, the Paris Review, Poetry, Tin House, Ploughshares
and elsewhere. Born in Tehran, Iran, he teaches at Purdue University and in low-residency programs at Warren Wilson and Randolph Colleges. In 2014, Kaveh founded Divedapper, a home for dialogues with the most vital voices in American poetry.
